Provenance unknown. Almost certainly in the Christ Church collections by 1665, the date of the 'Catalogus librorum omnium in Bibliotheca Aedis Christi &c' (Christ Church, Library Records 2), pp. 142 and 420, where a copy is listed with the shelfmark 'V.2.3'. A copy is also listed in the annotatated Christ Church copy of Catalogus impressorum librorum Bibliothecae Bodleianae in Academia Oxoniensis, ed. Thomas Hyde (Oxford, 1674), 1st set (Library Records 3a), p. 346, with the shelfmark 'P.1.7. Art'. (Neither of those shelfmarks is visible in Mus. 800 itself; but see below.) The volume was probably added to the music sequence in the mid 18th century; in an addition to the Dowding catalogue, the volume is listed as 'Florida, sive Cantiones a Joac. vanden Hove', and is allocated the shelfmark 'P15', which is written in ink on the front flyleaf of the volume itself. At the end of the catalogue by Charles Burney of the Christ Church music collections, an entry for this volume has been added by a hand other than Burney's, presumably after 1781, the year in which Burney presented the copy of his catalogue to Christ Church.

Upright format, 313 x 197 mm. Binding: early 17th-century brown calf over boards; blind-tooled fillets on upper and lower boards; gold-tooling on edges; stubs of green ribbon ties set into upper and lower boards. A paper label with the printed number '7' remains in place at the head of the fore-edge of the upper cover (possibly referring to the shelfmark 'P.1.7. Art' mentioned earlier), and a plate for chaining the volume has been removed from the foot of the lower cover; both are characteristics of volumes formerly shelved in the Old Library of Christ Church. Bookplate 2.
